We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Surveillance and Investigations Manager to lead the Surveillance and Investigations team on a full-time basis reporting directly to the GM Aviation Security.

The Surveillance and Investigations Team is an integral part of security operations at Melbourne Airport and works in close collaboration with APAM, State and Federal Government Agencies. This position is a full time, salaried role, with nominal working hours of Monday to Friday (0900 – 1700) but with an additional requirement to be available 24 hours each day if required.

Candidates applying for these positions must have the following:

  • Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Diploma of Risk Management and Business Continuity (or relevant operational experience)
  • Subject matter expert in response to emergency critical incidents
  • Highly developed strategic and operational planning skills in a security context
  • Experience in compliance and legislative framework around airport security (or equivalent)
  • Extensive security background (corporate, military, law enforcement)
  • Strong leadership and commercial skills
  • Experience in management of small teams working in a 24/7 operation
  • Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal
  • Organised - outcome and deadline oriented
  • High personal integrity
  • Reporting to the General Manager, and working closely with the Melbourne Airport Security Operations Manager, the role will be responsible for supporting Melbourne Airport investigation and incident response processes.

The ideal candidate will also be self-motivated and display personal behaviours and traits consistent with this role which include; an authoritative demeanour; resilience to stress with a calming presence; problem-solving ability; ownership of decisions and the capacity to lead and support a team as an integral member of the leadership team.
