About the Role
As the Hospitality & Catering Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of catering services, mess operations, food and beverage delivery, and team leadership. Working closely with Executive and Head Chefs, you will ensure service standards, compliance requirements, and budget targets are consistently achieved while maintaining a safe and positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily catering and hospitality operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop catering and food service teams.
- Prepare and manage staff rosters to meet operational requirements.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and service standards.
- Control food costs through effective ordering, storage, and stock management.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and financial processes.
- Manage customer feedback and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Oversee POS systems, pricing updates, and menu changes.
- Deliver and coordinate staff training programs to support ongoing service excellence.
- Ensure compliance with safety, food handling, and contractual obligations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar hospitality or catering management position.
- Strong knowledge of hospitality and catering operations, including statutory compliance.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Experience working within diverse and multicultural environments.
- Knowledge of espresso machine operation and maintenance.
- Barista skills with the ability to train team members.
Essential Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Hospitality Operations
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- Barista Qualification
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
Desirable Experience
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Previous Defence or Defence contractor experience
Minimum Requirements
- Australian Citizenship
- Current National Police Check
- Ability to obtain a pre-employment medical clearance (including Drug & Alcohol testing)
- Relevant trade qualifications (where applicable)
