The opportunity

As Village Manager – Woomera, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of village services at site, ensuring the smooth delivery of accommodation, catering, cleaning, grounds and related occupant services in a secure environment.

This role is ideal for a leader who can balance operational delivery with strategic thinking – someone who can manage competing priorities, lead through systems and processes, build strong stakeholder relationships and continuously improve the village experience.

You will play a key role in maintaining service standards, coordinating multiple service streams, managing financial performance and leading a professional, service-focused team.

What you will do

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of village services across the Woomera site
  • Oversee accommodation operations including room allocation, occupancy management and accommodation systems
  • Manage RMS systems, reservation platforms and related accommodation service processes
  • Coordinate catering operations including food ordering processes, meal service delivery and service standards
  • Ensure cleaning, grounds and shared facilities are maintained to required standards
  • Manage service providers and site-based operations to ensure services are delivered efficiently and consistently
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with site stakeholders and internal support teams
  • Manage site purchasing, budgets, cost control and financial reporting requirements
  • Lead, develop and support a multi-disciplinary site-based team
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, site experience and operational performance
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all site, client and ISS requirements

What we are looking for

  • Experience leading multi-service operations in villages, accommodation, hospitality, Defence or similarly complex environments
  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing site-based teams and multiple service streams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, purchasing, reporting and cost control
  • Experience using RMS systems, reservation platforms, accommodation systems or similar service tools
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted working relationships
  • A strategic and operational mindset with the ability to plan ahead, solve problems and improve performance
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to delivering high service standards
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to operate successfully in a secure, regulated and high-accountability environment

To be considered

  • Australian Citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required Australian Government Security Clearance
  • Ability to meet site and operational requirements
