Our ISS Health Team is growing and we are currently seeking a Sous Chef at Flinders Medical Centre for a permanent, part time position (38 hours per week).
The Position:
- Assist in the preparation of food as directed by Catering Supervisor.
- Produce food in line with kitchen recipes and standards.
- Check all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulations.
- Promoting flexibility and productivity within the kitchen.
- Ensure all kitchens are kept clean and tidy according to Health & Hygiene regulations.
- Ensure a high level of customer service and interaction with clients and stakeholders.
To be considered for this role:
- Australian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery (essential).
- Fit, active and energetic with ability to bend, stand and lift.
- High volume catering, including bulk catering and al a carte experience.
- Strong knowledge in Food Safety and HACCAP reporting.
- Strong knowledge in Allergy management.
- Flexibility to work a rotational roster; including early mornings and afternoon shifts, weekends and public holidays (no night shifts!)
- Experience in rostering and leading a small team in head chefs' absence.
- Motivated, self-starter with ability to work unsupervised to a schedule.
Minimum Criteria:
- Evidence of immunisation for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Pertussis, Diptheria, Hep B, or blood test to show immunity - or willingness to obtain
- Current Police Clearance no older than 12 months, or willingness to obtain (Essential)
- Current DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain (Essential)
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and drive to deliver strong customer service
