Our team is growing, and we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer at our Macquarie Park office (in Sydney), for a Full Time role. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with Australian payroll legislation and company policies. We currently use CHRIS21 and experience with CHRIS21 or iCHRIS is preferred but we are also open to anyone with experience on a similar comprehensive payroll processing system and willing to be trained on CHRIS21.
The Position:
- This role will be responsible for the overall day to day management of a specific portfolio which will include end to end pay run processing across a segment and any ad hoc pay runs
- Manage employee records, leave entitlements, and salary packaging.
- Responsible for the timely follow up and response to all payroll queries within KPI standards
- Process new employees, ongoing maintenance and leave
- Process and provide termination and redundancy estimates as required
- Process all salary, bonuses and any other ad hoc process related to Australian Operational Division
- Ensure compliance with Fair Work regulations, Modern Awards, and Enterprise Agreements
- Liaise with internal teams, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated with changes in Australian payroll legislation and best practices.
- Assist with system upgrades, automation, and process improvements.
- Manage payroll operations workflow from Service Now
- Provide training to other team members where required

- Blue and white collar experience with many awards / agreements – 3,000+ staff
- Knowledge of Payroll/HR using a comprehensive payroll processing system such as CHRIS21/iCHRIS (ideal), Kronos (T&A) or similar (SAP ECP, Preceda, ADP, etc)
