An exciting opportunity exists for a FIFO Relief Assistant Village Manager to join our dynamic and professional Energy & Resources operations team in Queensland on a 14/7 roster. This role is unique as you will be providing support to 5 of Villages throughout the State.

Reporting to the Site Village Manager, this position is key in managing the day to day operations of the village to the prescribed contractual requirements.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Direct and be responsible for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation
  • Assist in the management of our clients expectations
  • Direct and assist the department heads in the operation of the Village services and operational functions
  • Provide to the Site Village Manager essential feedback on the status of the Village operations and departments
  • To maximise revenue potential and maintain strict cost control procedures to ensure our objectives and budgets are achieved
  • To assist the Site Manager to represent ISS in all matters relating to the Village
  • Cultivate a positive work environment where learning and personal development are benchmarks by which quality improvement is driven
  • Be innovative, collaborative and to be proactive in achieving KPIs and agreed targets and objectives
  • To ensure all systems and controls in the Village are operating efficiently and in accordance with, Client and ISS Policies and Procedures
  • Staff mentoring and performance management
  • P&L responsibility
  • Ensuring compliance with the clients and ISS HSE policies, procedures and management systems is a not negotiable
  • Development and delivery of in-field safety leadership and toolbox meetings

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in the Village Service Sector managing mining village camps of 300 +
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Previous experience in working a remote location
  • Demonstrated initiative
  • Ability to manage a team 30+ within HR and IR frameworks
  • Certificate IV OH&S or higher desirable not essential
  • Knowledge of safety systems and databases
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant OH&S legislation

Applicants must have an unrestricted C class license, a current police clearance and be prepared to undergo and pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen.

As you will be in constant contact with senior executives and external representatives, you will display polished presentation and communication abilities. You will have extensive experience in site management, proven leadership skills and strong decision making capability.
