The Opportunity:

A rare and exciting opportunity exists for Apprentice Chefs to work a Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) roster from Perth Airport to our villages in regional Western Australia. This apprenticeship combines paid for study and employment to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a trade qualified Chef.

What we are looking for:

  • A commitment and willingness to become Trade Qualified.
  • Sound written and verbal English skills with ability to effectively and positively communicate and sound numerical competency
  • Fit, active and energetic - able to bend, stand and lift
  • Honest and reliable
  • No experience is required, as training is completed over the course of the apprenticeship, however relevant kitchen experience is an advantage
  • Ability to work a flexible FIFO roster from Perth Airport
  • Police Clearance or willing to obtain one and medically fit to pass Pre-employment medical
  • COVID 19 Vaccination Certificate outlining full vaccination is required. As a service provider, ISS must comply with all public health directives and client requirements. Medical exemptions will apply

Role Details:

Reporting to the on-site Head Chef and catering leadership team and with a wide support network as you progress, this is an amazing opportunity to become a qualified Chef.

All theoretical and practical training is provided on site and in Perth and you'll be working for one of the largest catering and facilities management company’s in the world!

As an Apprentice Chef in our ISS catering team, you will assist in all food operations within the Village including breakfast, take away lunches and dinner service. The goal is to exceed customer expectations, deliver a healthy and delicious food offering, whilst being in line with contractual requirements. 

The role will be working on one of our various remote locations for up to 2 weeks at a time.
