ISS is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Training Manager – Aviation Security to lead and govern training capability at Brisbane Airport within a complex, regulated operating environment.

This critical role supports the delivery of compliant aviation security screening outcomes in accordance with Australian legislative requirements, regulatory standards, and ISS contractual obligations. 

As a trusted leader, you will shape the capability of frontline aviation security teams, fostering a culture of compliance, professionalism and continuous improvement. Your work will have a direct impact on maintaining the integrity, effectiveness and safety of aviation security operations.

Based on site at Brisbane Airport, Monday to Friday, this role offers a unique opportunity to support national aviation security outcomes while advancing your career with ISS, a global leader in workplace experience and facility services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership of the training function, ensuring full compliance and alignment with relevant aviation security legislation, regulatory frameworks, Approved Transport Security Programs (TSPs), and ISS contractual, national, and Registered Training Organisation standards.
  • Lead the aviation security training function, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and ISS standards.

Proactively identify, manage, and escalate training and compliance risks, ensuring non-compliance issues are reported in a timely manner, effective corrective action plans are implemented, and all activities align with regulatory reporting obligations.

  • Oversee the design, delivery, and quality assurance of competency-based training programs for Aviation Protection Officers, maintaining certification, accreditation, and compliance with national screening standards.
  • Establish and manage audit and assurance frameworks to monitor training effectiveness, instructor quality, and ongoing compliance.
  • Proactively identify, assess and manage training and compliance risks, ensuring non-compliance issues are reported in a timely manner, effective corrective action plans are implemented, and all activities align with regulatory reporting requirements and organisational obligations.
  • Lead and develop the training team, promoting consistent, high-quality outcomes and a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement, with standardised training and assessment practice
  •  Identify and manage training compliance risks, ensuring timely reporting, effective corrective actions and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the implementation of ISS national training frameworks and industry best practice, ensuring continuous alignment with evolving aviation security requirements.
  • Support ISS safety systems and return-to-work programs, integrating training outcomes with broader workforce capability and safety strategies.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering and leading training programs within a regulated environment
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver training across large, complex organisations
  • Aviation industry or similar industry experience is highly desirable
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
  • Hold or willing to complete a Cert II Transport Security Protection (TSP)
  • Experience in monitoring and reviewing existing processes and procedures and implementing changes to improve operational efficiencies
  • Well-developed communication skills both written and oral and negotiation skills
  • High level of computer literacy and sound knowledge of training management systems
