We're on the lookout for an experienced and motivated Full-time Sous Chef to join our FIFO Resources Catering Team on a 14/7 roster, FIFO from Brisbane or Sunshine Coast. Reporting to the Village Manager, you'll play a key role in delighting residents with healthy and delicious food offerings, all while exceeding customer expectations and adhering to contractual requirements..

The Position:

  • Take charge of managing P&L and food costs with finesse.
  • Oversee kitchen operations and logistics, including stock control.
  • Exceed client expectations with your culinary expertise.
  • Lead and inspire Chefs in day-to-day operations.

Minimum Criteria:

  • Australian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery essential.
  •  Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • High volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experience.
  • Experience in a mining village operation preferred, but all professional kitchen experience considered.
  • Willingness to obtain or have a Queensland Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 Surface Mining Induction.
  • Experience working in a remote setting desired.
  • Strong leadership skills, self-motivation, and initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and management.
