We have an exciting opportunity for an HSE Advisor to join our Corporate HSEQ Team in a Full Time role that can be based out of our Brisbane, Sydney (Macquarie Park) or Melbourne CBD offices. The role would involve travel to client sites across the metro area of that city.

 

ISS operates in a matrix organisational structure, with this role reporting to the Head of HSEQ, but also supporting our Key Accounts on a geographical basis in Australia and New Zealand. The role would incorporate a broad scope across the following key areas:

 

Operational Advice and Support

  • Provide effective, timely and expert advice and support on OHS/WHS and environmental management to operational managers.
  • Create opportunities to coach others, particularly leaders, on OHS/WHS processes and effective leadership behaviours that positively shape culture.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate training to build OHS/WHS technical and leadership capability.

 

Systems and Processes

  • Provide high-level Velocity EHS (ISS’s HSE Information System) administrative support to users.
  • Actively participate with the broader HSEQ team to standardise key processes across the business to drive consistency.

 

Reporting and Analysis

  • Manage the Health & Safety Key Performance Indicator reporting process, including the generation of defined weekly and monthly reports from Velocity to generate KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities to continually improve this KPI reporting process.
  • Refresh and publish Power BI Dashboards to illustrate our performance.

 

Project-based Work

  • Collaborate with the Head of HSEQ and Regional HSEQ Managers on defined projects to drive continual improvement in our health and safety culture and performance.

What will you possess to be successful

 

You are a strong, flexible and effective communicator, who has the ability to work autonomously but is able to collaborate with others to achieve common goals. Experience facilitating small group training would also be required.

 

Alongside your strength in the above, you will present with:

  • Technical qualifications in health and safety, ideally tertiary degree or post-graduate certificate level.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in an operational HSE role.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a HSE information system, ideally in a high-level administrative capacity.
