We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cleaning Supervisor to provide and monitor cleaning services to all departments, wards and public areas of the Hospital and other health sites. 

You will be responsible to maintain a healthy and appropriate environment to minimise the infection risk to the community it serves.

Here is a snapshot of your day:

  • Daily visual inspection of the site ensuring cleaning standards are achieved. Report any risk identified (e.g.: OHS, Clinical, Financial, Technology, Public Image) to the manager and request a risk assessment. Participate in risk management activities.
  • Manage and ensure rosters are current, ensure roster absenteeism is managed efficiently each day providing cleaning staff to all areas in accordance with sites labour budgets.
  • Ensure all Cleaning schedules are completed and signed off in a timely manner.
  • Conduct internal cleaning audits, follow up with rectifications and advise staff of audit processes and outcomes.
  • Ensure all Cleaning schedules are completed and signed off in a timely manner.
  • Conduct tool box talks and other training/coaching needs as required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level attention to details 
  • Highly organised with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Thorough understanding and commitment to cleaning and infection control requirements in a hospital environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised. 

Please note that prior to commencement, successful candidates will be required to: 

  • Comply with Canberra Health Services Screening and Vaccination policy
  • Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check 
  • Must register under the Working with Vulnerable People Act 2011.
