We are seeking customer service focused individuals with high attention to detail who have an interest in pursuing a career in the Aviation Sector. ISS Aviation and Transport in Australia are responsible for screening 43 million passengers and over 300,000 flights every year! Due to recent changes in legislation, ISS is excited to offer a new pathway to being becoming an Aviation Protection Officer at Perth Airport on a Part-Time basis.
About The Position:
Seeking a new career path and have an interest in security and aviation? Play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of air travel. Play a critical role with a diverse team of Security Professionals dedicated to safety, compliance and creating the best airport experience for all passengers flying through Perth Airport. You will be:
- Responsible for consistent and standard security practices ensuring passengers and their possessions are checked and cleared prior to departure
- Control access to security sensitive areas, undertaking physical searches, and identifying weapons, explosives and prohibited items
- Efficiently co-ordinate the flow of passengers through security screening
- Demonstrate effective communication and sound decision making skills
- Providing consistent high quality customer service
What we are looking for:
- Experience in customer service or a keen interest in working in a dynamic airport environment or overall interest in Aviation Security
- Willing to commit to complete company provided training to gain Certificate II in Transport Security Protection OR currently hold a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection
- Ability to successfully pass drug and alcohol screening and medical assessments
- Ability to obtain an ASIC (Criminal history clearance in the past 10 years) which we will pay for
- A WA Security License is highly desired! We are offering a Certificate III upgrade for free to those who hold a current Certificate II in Security Operations - incentives are also available for completing this!
- Hold an unrestricted driver's license and have own reliable vehicle
- Availability to work across a 24/7 rotational roster
What you will get in return:
- Initial hourly rate of $28.91 per hour + penalties.
- Aviation allowance of $2.11 for every hour worked!
- A Certificate II In Transport Security Protection (TSP). For a limited time, this nationally recognised qualification is offered at $1500 (usually $2000) through ISS. *Please read below for more information on this course.
- Gain advanced knowledge of Aviation security terminology and theory requirements ahead of your commencement of employment with practical training to follow on site at the airport.

About the Certificate II Transport Security Protection (TSP):
Aviation security is an important industry, keeping travelling passengers and their loved ones safe in the air - and to meet new and emerging threat levels, specific theoretical knowledge has been passed through Parliament as a requirement for all Aviation Screeners.
As the Employer AND Training Provider, we are in a unique position to guide and support you through the Certificate II in Transport Security Protection and 40 hours paid On-the-Job Training required for all Aviation Screeners preparing you for your new role as an Aviation Protection Officer, with our Registered Training Organisation.
This nationally recognised qualification is offered at the cost of $1500 (normally valued at $2000). This includes approximately 25 hours online learning plus 5 days of paid practical training delivered within our airport operations as well as access to webinars and online support while you gain your qualification.
