ISS Facility Services is seeking experienced and inspiring Hospitality Leaders to join our Defence contract in South Australia.

This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing end to end hospitality services across the Base, including mess dining, café and retail operations, beverage services, functions, and special events. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the guest experience for Defence personnel while ensuring exceptional service delivery, compliance and operational excellence.

About the Role

As a Hospitality Leader, you’ll support multiple service streams and partner closely with Defence stakeholders, ISS senior leaders, Chefs and Front of House teams to deliver consistent, high-quality hospitality, cleaning and accommodation experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all on‑base hospitality services, including messes, cafe, retail outlets, events and after‑hours operations
  • Manage daily service delivery with Chefs, FOH Supervisors and ISS leaders
  • Maintain high food quality, presentation and service standards
  • Lead, coach and support FOH, BOH, and cleaning teams
  • Drive barista, customer service and performance development
  • Foster a positive, service‑focused culture aligned with ISS and Defence values
  • Manage staffing, rostering to budget, onboarding and training
  • Maintain accurate reporting, revenue data and operational records
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, WHS, allergens and hygiene standards
  • Conduct audits and ensure Defence inspection readiness
  • Keep menus, signage and compliance documents current
  • Respond promptly to feedback, queries and maintenance needs
  • Reporting of incidents as required

What you will possess to be successful:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior hospitality, catering or multi-site Food, Beverage, and cleaning management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive performance and develop staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across diverse cultural and professional backgrounds
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously in a secure environment
  • Experience managing budgets, stock, costs and operational reporting
  • Barista knowledge and ability to mentor team members
  • Capability to meet physical requirements and respond to emergency protocols
  • Australian Citizenship (required for Defence Security Clearance)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA Security Clearance
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence

Qualifications

  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Multi-site supervision
  • Australian Drivers license
  • Retail experience (desirable)
  • Previous experience in Defence or Defence Contracting (desirable)
