Are you a culinary maestro ready to lead a talented kitchen team to new heights? We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Head Chef to join our DIDO Resources Catering Team in Bowen Basin, Central Queensland. Reporting to the Site Manager, the Head Chef will ensure all safety and quality processes are followed while exceeding customer expectations with healthy and delicious food offerings, in line with contractual requirements. This role operates on a roster of 2 weeks on, 1 week off. Drive-in, drive-out locations include Mackay, Emerald, Townsville, Rockhampton, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals that meet nutritional standards and exceed customer expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
  • Oversee food preparation, presentation, and service to ensure a high standard.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and control kitchen costs to meet budgetary requirements.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high standards of hygiene and food handling.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to plan and develop menus that align with customer preferences and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor and ensure consistency in the quality and presentation of all dishes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations and health standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional creativity and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications.
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
  • Ability to obtain a police check valid within 90 days.
