ISS is currently seeking an experienced individual to join us in the position of Duty Manager based at ISS Brisbane Airport, employed on a Full Time basis.

About the role

This role requires a security leader who is ready to take charge of security and operational matters within a highly regulated environment. You will be required to coordinate and manage the ‘day of operation’ activities and make rapid and sound decisions to ensure the timely resolution of operational and compliance issues across all ISS security check points within the Brisbane Airport precinct. You will enjoy leading a team of passionate and dedicated employees and see value in continuing to provide coaching and on-job mentoring. Ideally you have an extensive background within Aviation and a thorough understanding of regulations and legislation that shape the industry. This position operates on a shared rotating roster, 7 days a week and is an advocate for the ISS Transport & Infrastructure Vision and creating an exceptional ‘customer experience’ which will significantly contribute to our clients achieving their commercial objectives.

The Position

  • Conduct daily and weekly meetings on operational elements.
  • Ensure day-of operation delivery of security services according to agreed processes that meet or exceed our contractual/regulatory obligations
  • Act as the ISS Senior Representative during out of hours and ensure compliance to all ISS processes and security procedures
  • Ability to lead and coordinate the team in response to security breaches and other security related incidents
  • Ability to develop and influence positive client relationships
  • Display excellent conflict resolution skills and the ability to deal with staff grievances and customer complaint according to ISS policy
  • Monitoring staff compliance and productivity and providing constructive feedback and guidance
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective communication and consultation with broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Clear understanding the financial objectives. Involvement in rostering
  • Be experienced in motivating and managing teams including performance management, coaching, training and leading
  • Exceptional planning, organisational and analytical skills. Be a change management champion
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong leadership capability - proven ability to influence others to a considered course of action
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and drive to deliver strong customer service
  • Promote a professional image at all times

Minimum Criteria

  • Certificate II in Security Operations
  • Valid state issued Security Licence
  • Minimum 3 years previous management experience in a similar role ideally within the Security Industry.
  • Ability to successfully pass drug & alcohol screening
  • Ability to obtain an ASIC (National Criminal Background Check)
  • Hold an unrestricted drivers licence and have own reliable vehicle
