ISS is currently seeking an experienced business leader that can demonstrate sound financial acumen and operational understanding to join us in the position of Operations Manager based at either Melbourne or Sydney airport on a Full-Time basis.  “COVID 19 Vaccination Certificate outlining Full vaccination will be required. As a service provider, ISS must comply with all public health directives and client requirements. Medical exemptions will apply.”

The Role:

Reporting to the General Manager Aviation Security, the Operations Manager is responsible for providing leadership to the ISS Aviation Security team across a multi-site platform - ultimately responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of aviation security services that meet/exceed contractual/regulatory requirements.  You will have demonstrated experience in managing a diverse team across a large site or multi-site platform. You will be a self-motivated individual who is able to work autonomously whilst being able to collaborate with different stakeholders to achieve required results. The role will promote and drive a work culture centered on the ISS core values of Honesty, Entrepreneurship, Responsibility and Our Quality and displays the effectively demonstrate the ISS Leadership Competencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate operational management team and staff to ensure contractual compliance, continual development and that measured targets are achieved in the day to day operation
  • Develop and motivate team members and increase employee engagement
  • Partner with our valued clients, understand their strategies and ensure ISS adds value to and complements these strategies
  • Ensure contractual compliance through frequent review and development to ensure agreed Key Performance Indicators are being achieved
  • Ensure robust governance of contract and delivery of quality service outcomes through effective procedures, training, audit programs
  • Strong focus on cost leadership and labour control, proactively identifying efficiencies and new business opportunities
  • Maintain health, safety and environmental consideration in airport precinct operations
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with other airport organisations (Customs, AFP, airlines etc.)
  • Facilitate audit and inspection requirements to ensure regulatory compliance

Role Criteria:

  • 3 years operational management experience in a large scale operation
  • Interstate travel to conduct site visits and inspections
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead by example
  • Understanding of the aviation cargo industry and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute operational plans in line with financial measures
  • Unrestricted current drivers license and reliable transport
  • Professional presentation and customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
