Within our Health Division, our organisation offers high quality non-clinical support services with a focus to provide positive patient experiences. We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Catering Manager to manage the catering requirements for Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide. The role would suit an energetic and extremely motivated professional to drive our service excellence culture.

As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for managing daily food preparation, production and implementation of menus in line with contractual obligations, which are designed to deliver an innovative, safe, dining experience. They must ensure that all food safety standards and nutritional guidelines are met and maintained in the Hospital kitchen environment.

Experienced candidates will be considered if they have the following skills:

  • Previous Catering experience or a strong understanding  in a large Healthcare environment of 200+ beds
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
  • Experience with the cook-fresh catering process
  • Experience in working with Menu Management systems
  • Sound experience and understanding of special dietary requirements
  • Extensive experience in delivering and ensuring compliance to Food Safety systems
  • Proven experience in motivating and managing teams including recruitment, performance management and training
  • Proven Experience in Rostering, budget and account management.
  • Able to work closely and collaborative with Allied Health hospital relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional planning, organisational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and drive to deliver strong customer service
  • Genuine interest in working with and caring for people
  • Working knowledge of workplace health & safety regulations (2000/ISO 9002 and 22000 Standards/HACCP/EQuIP)
  • Implementation of Food Safety Plans Procedures

 

Minimum Criteria:

  • Provision of National Police Clearance within three (3) months date of issue
  • Provision of DHS Working With Children Check – Employment
  • Provision of DHS Aged Care Sector Screening Check - Employment
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certificate III Commercial Cookery essential and/or Diploma of Business, Hospitality and Catering preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience, in charge of a commercial kitchen, with ability to work with a substantial level of accountability
  • Advanced Food Handlers Certificate or Food Safety Supervisor
  • Leadership abilities with previous experience in a management role
  • Experience in menu planning
  • Knowledge and passion for contemporary food trends, creativity, detail focused
  • Knowledge of nutritional requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to control food and labour costs, as well as demonstrated analytical and mathematical ability
  • Strong financial and budgeting acumen
  • Experience within a public sector Hospital
  • Experience in the management of 50+ personnel/food and beverage staff
